Tactical Knife – A Tactical Knife, also known as a Combat Knife or Military Knife is typically made with high quality materials.  If it has a folding blade, the lock will not fail under extreme use.  If it has a fixed blade, it comes with a sheath secure enough to hold the knife without fear of falling out.  A Tactical Knife is a tool that you can be secure in knowing won’t fail.  Above all else a Tactical Knife is capable of standing up to most extreme conditions whether it’s temperature, humidity, dirt, or sand.  The blade point can vary based on the user’s preference.  In short, a knife you can bet your life on.

A Tactical Knife will usually have the following features: 

• Partially Serrated or Completely Serrated Edge.
• Non-reflective black coated blade.
• It will have a secure method to locking the blade in place if it is a Folding Knife.
• Folding Knife, it will open easily with one hand.
• If it is a Fixed Blade, the Sheath will have several secure tie down points and made of some composite material.
• The Handle or scales will be made from a Non-Slip material.
• The blade will have a thick heavy spine to ensure blade rigidity.
• The Folding Tactical Knife will have a clip on one side to secure the knife to the inside of a pants pocket.
• The Folding Knife will have a blade longer than 3 ½ inches.
• The Fixed Blade Knife will have a blade longer than 5 inches.

Hunting Knife – A Hunting Knife is used for multiple purposes during the hunting process such as cutting wood, cutting rope or starting a fire.  A Hunting Knife is the primary tool used to clean or skin an animal.  It can have either a Fixed Blade or a Folding Blade.  It typically has a plain edge.  A Hunting Knife may have a Gut-Hook.  A Gut-Hook has a rounded edge with a sharpened inside edge that is used to skin an animal.  The Gut-Hook slices the skin but doesn’t cut into the underlying meat.  A Hunting Knife will typically have a Drop Point blade.

A Hunting Knife will usually have the following features:

• The Handle or scales will be made from a Non-Slip material.
• The Blade will have a Plain Edge.
• The Blade will be made from a high quality stainless steel that will retain a razors edge.
• The Fixed Blade Sheath will be made of leather or a stain resistant material.
• The Folding Hunting Knife will be carried in a sheath worn on a belt.
• It must be impervious to temperature extremes.
